SUBJECT: Business Strategy Proposal
Films bearing 3D technology have recently experienced a surge in popularity. Since 3D technology was first introduced in the early 1900's, it has had several short-lived periods of commercial success, followed by complete consumer disregard. I propose to write a report on weaknesses in the business strategies of 3D film makers, and how they can be improved.
Need 3D technology creates an incentive for people to view films in the theater. With the right business strategy, there is a potential for the 3D film market to become a continued success.
History has proved that 3D technology is a novelty feature that initially attracts consumers through hype. After peaks in viewer interest, business strategies should adapt and cater to a smaller audience.
Constant raises in 3D movie ticket prices, coupled with the current increase in the online video access will encourage younger viewers to watch movies online.
Keep 3D films consistent in quality so that viewers do not feel as if they are taking a gamble every time they pay a premium price in the theater.
The market for 3D technology is sensitive to change. While 3D technology presents a unique medium to view movies, incentives for viewers to choose 3D over 2D must implemented. Strategies used to capitalize on other products should not be used on 3D movies because the novelty of 3D is completely preference based.
Topics The proposed topic: "Potential downfalls of the film industry's use of 3D technology" will cover the following topics:
This source contains information on the revenue of some 3D films. Also contains a lot of information regarding televisions with the capability to play 3D movies and games.
This article includes many first hand experiences that are very commonly stated about 3D technology. Also analyzes whether this new wave of 3D popularity is just a gimmick or if it is revolutionary.
